I love Star Trek: The Next Generation. The Cardassians are a one of the better jerk aliens in the show. It seems like there were often pretty good actors for the Cardassian roles.
I haven't read 1984 in awhile but it seems like it was a bit of an inspiration for the great Four Lights episode of TNG.
